Executive Coaching $210 per hour

With decades of relevant experience in growing startup companies (Groupon, Uber, Venmo, Toast, Imprint Payments, and more), teaching in university classrooms (UNH, UNE, SNHU), and performing improv across the world at a professional level, Tyler Paterson brings unique insight and creative solutions to the table. See challenges from new angles, develop highly effective and repeatable workarounds to recurring issues, keep your team motivated when morale starts to waver, or even elevate your day to day with touches of joy and playfulness. He’ll help you write those tough emails (without AI!), bring conversation tools to the do-or-die meetings that lean into positive outcomes by leveraging levity, ground your communications in honesty.

By learning the basics of improv (yes, and, active listening, collaboration, situational awareness, mapping, etc) you can bring playfulness to your routine and meetings that allows every employee to flourish.

Did you know improv was founded through educational practices that united communities from all walks of life? By creating a safe place to explore ideas, students (and eventually workers) grew ideas from simple thoughts into worldwide empires.

Management Training: 2 Hours, $300

Punch in, Punch out, Punchline!

“The only way for evil to flourish in this world is for good people to say It’s Just Business” -Alan Shore

The modern workforce is highly nuanced and requires a delicate balance of time management and understanding. The old model is gone. When companies like google and facebook offer laundry services, napping pods, unlimited vacation, free food courts and more, how do you keep a team motivated if most of these things aren’t at your disposal?

Easy. You listen to them.

I’m not talking about simply letting them vent or sitting back grinding your teeth as they trash the latest update to a process or procedure, I’m talking about approaching conversations with curiosity to gain insight into the people on your team. How do you have a tough conversation with an employee you like? How do you take corrective action on an employee thats slipping? How do you manage time off requests, especially around major holidays? The simplicity of the answer might surprise you…

This workshop trains active listening skills, approaching tough conversations, reinforcing positive behaviors, and most of all - understanding how to become your team’s ally and not their enemy.

The Release Valve - 3 hours, $1,200

This workshop is specifically designed for those working high-stress jobs. First responders, ER doctors and nurses, law enforcement, correctional officers, firefighters, EMT’s (and more) deal with pressures that would break the general population. Even harder is that they are required to stay calm, cool, and collected at all times. So where does all of that pent up frustration go? For many, it’s the quickest role to burnout. Relationships suffer, home life gets stifled, and our view of humanity becomes tainted.

The Release Valve offers a more modern solution - a closed-door workshop where the participants can explore the necessary side of dark humor aka Gallows Humor. Let it out through laughter by re-enacting those tough moments to finally say what you wish you could have said, acted how you wish you could have acted, and unload those months and years of built-up frustrations in a safe environment. Using games like “Rant”, “Shoulda Said” and “Re-create” participants can blow off steam through laughter and reconnect with the very reasons they chose their careers.

Soft Skills (3 tiers) $1,200 per tier, or $3,000 for booking all 3

Anyone in a customer-facing role needs a large skillset of soft skills. From active listening, to warm transfers, to thoughtful response, this workshop uses improv games to pass on the necessary tools needed for dealing with customers and/or clients.

How many times does a client ask a question or make a statement that throws you for a loop? How do you recover when technology isn’t working the way it’s supposed to? How do you win back trust in the heat of the moment? And more importantly, how do you have those tough conversations without feeling like you’re sacrificing pieces of yourself?

These workshops are designed to boost communication skills, emotional intelligence, active listening, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal collaboration.

Tier 1 - Listening Skills, Empathy, and Restating

Tier 2 - Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, and De-Escalating

Tier 3 - Deep Listening. What’s Really happening and how to address/overcome the obstacles

By using games like “Alphabet”, “What Are You Doing?” “Good Advice, Bad Advice, Weird Advice” alongside tools like Mapping, Restating, and Wise-Mind, build the necessary skills to be successful for those customer-facing roles. Sales, CS, Operations, and more are welcome.

Keynote Speaker: $200-$500 depending on the event

As a professional improviser of over 20 years, I present on the value of laughter and comedy, but more importantly - how those things enhance your workforce and/or community. Packed with both anecdotal evidence from years on stage and the road, teaching, and pointing to science backed evidence with actionable takeaways, discover how using simple games can enhance your relationships to the people around you. From co-workers, to friendships, to management, to family, to romance, the answer isn’t more technology, it’s more connection. This engaging presentation demystifies the process of learning, growing, and allowing our inner child to flourish once again while also providing ongoing resources to those who wish to continue their journey.

Improv in the Classroom

“Be curious and not judgemental,” Ted Lasso misquoting Walt Whitman

Teachers are essentially on stage 5 days a week during the school year. They have to lesson plan, find clever ways to bring students up to speed, deal with unplanned moments, grade homework, tests, essays, and be expected to do it all with a smile on their face.

It’s not easy, especially when budget cuts roll around.

So why not learn the techniques that don’t require money, technology, or layers and layers of approval forms? Integrating simple improv into classroom curriculum is one of the most effective and underutilized tools modern society has ever known. Viola Spolin discovered such in the 1940’s working with underserviced communities and revolutionized the landscape. Yet, most of her profound and powerful findings were left behind in exchange for computers, and tablets, and social media, and shared online spaces. While these things certainly help, a sense of play can elevate the classroom even more than all of those things combined.

Learn when to be silly and when to be serious. Learn when how to take unexpected moments and transform them into teachable moments that create community instead of alienating students. Learn simple classroom exercises that bring the room together despite the challenges of different learning styles, learning obstacles, or students with large personalities (you know what I mean). By understanding the mechanics behind these games and exercises, your emotional intelligence, awareness, ability to think quick and pivot will all exponentially increase transforming your classroom into a place of deep learning, curiosity, and exploration.
